German Politician calls for cell phone restrictions

Thomas Jarzombek a state Christian Democratic Union politician has developed a plan to keep brutal violence, as well as pornography, out of the hands of underage cell phone users - a protection system that would prevent them accessing inappropriate content...

German is having similar problems to the UK - with the craze of 'happy slapping' - and incidences of children filming themselves beating or bullying other children, and then sending the resulting video or images to their friends are on the rise...

US teen gets Governor's old cell phone number...

Katie Kamar bought a cell phone and then was amazed to receive dozens of calls for the Michigan Governor, Jennifer Granholm. It appears that Granholm's old number was given out to a new phone and Katie has had to struggle with calls, night and day, seeking to talk to the Governor...

UK Cell Phone use drops...

The latest JD Power survey has revealed that UK cellphone use dropped last year...

The latest figures, from a survey of 2,706 UK cell phone customers, show that pay-as-you-go cell phone calls have dropped 28.5 per cent and contract cellphone calls have fallen 23 per cent.

That’s a drop in the average number of weekly cell phone calls made by pre-pay customers from 14 in 2006 to 10, and for those on contract a fall from 35 in 2006 to 27 in 2007.

The 10th annual survey also found that the average number of text messages has stayed the same as last year at 27 for pre-pay customers, but has shot up by almost 44 per cent for contract customers – from 32 to 46.
